A listing lives or dies on its visuals, and the ones with the best ones sell faster. Until now, ordering them meant leaving your Propstack CRM, briefing an outside provider, and hoping the turnaround matched your deadline. That extra step is gone. Propstack users across Germany can now request Backbone's visual services directly inside the CRM they already use every day.

A minute with Kevin from Propstack on why this integration exists

‍

What made you want to break down the wall between Propstack and Backbone?

Brokers were already doing this manually. A broker takes on a new listing, then has to leave Propstack, log into a separate platform, order a shoot, wait for delivery, then download and re-upload the files back into Propstack. Every one of those steps is a place to lose ten minutes, or lose the file entirely. I don't think 'digital transformation' means adding more tools. It means making the tools you already have talk to each other. And with the pressure brokers are under, listings to close, calls to return, viewings to run, that lost time is never coming back

How does this change the experience for the broker actually using Propstack day to day?

It's easy to call something an "integration" and just mean there's an API somewhere in the background. What matters is whether it feels native. Does a broker have to think about the fact that Backbone is a different company, a different system, a different login? If they do, we haven't done our job. The goal was for booking a shoot to feel exactly like every other action they already take on a property, no separate mental step. A good integration is one the customer stops noticing.

Real estate pros wear a lot of hats these days. Does that make an integration like this more necessary, not less?

Definitely. A broker today is part negotiator, part marketer, part project manager, sometimes part photographer if nobody else shows up. On top of that, they're expected to be fluent in a CRM, a marketing tool, e-signature software, multiple portals. Nobody signed up to be an IT administrator on the side. The job isn't getting simpler, so the ecosystem around it has to.

Frequently asked questions

What is an API?
Arrow icon

An API (application programming interface) is the way two pieces of software talk to each other. It sets the rules for what one system can ask another for, and what it sends back. You never see it, but you rely on APIs all day: when your CRM pushes a property to a portal or a calendar invite syncs to your phone, that's usually an API doing the work.

What's the difference between an API and an integration?
Arrow icon

The API is the connection. The integration is the experience built on top of it. An API makes it possible for two systems to exchange data. An integration puts that exchange inside the tool you already use, so you can act without switching apps, logging in twice or moving files by hand. Put simply, developers build with the API, and you click on the integration.

Why connect your marketing tools to your CRM?

Every switch between tools costs a few minutes and creates a chance for mistakes. When your tools share data, property details travel once and stay consistent: no retyping addresses, no chasing the latest file version, no wondering which system is up to date. Across dozens of Mandate a year, that adds up to real hours back for clients, viewings and closing.
